How to select a search tool

Information:

Each red box on this page below contains a list of navigation tools. The name of a red box describes the type of navigation tools it contains.

For each tool listed in a single red box, the box provides a succinct explanation of what the tool does and how it works; it gives you a way to visit it fast.

Action:

  • The list above the first red box on this page, below, contains the names of all the red boxes on this page.
  • Using the names of the red boxes on the list, decide which type of tool is best for the features or information you want to find and the kind of searching you want to do.
  • Then jump to the red box that contains this type of tool by clicking the name of the red box on the list. Or scroll down the page to see all the boxes and pick the one you want.

Step 2—visit the page that contains the tool you decide to use

Information:

The names of some tools listed in red boxes are links to pages where the named tool is located.

Other tools are menus, search engines, features that explain navigation in depth and at length, etc.

Action:

  • Select the specific navigation tool you want to use from the list of tools in the red box you have chosen.
  • If the name of the tool is a link, click the name to visit the page that contains the tool.
  • If the tool is not a link (menus, search engines, etc.), read and follow the directions for the tool in the red box.

Step 3—use the tool

Information:

Some tools work by listing the names of links to other pages you may want to see. Other tools (menus, search engines, etc.) work in other ways.

How you use the navigation tool you have chosen depends on the nature of the tool. You'll usually know what to do when you see it.

Action:

  • If the tool contains links to other pages, first visit the tool (Step 2, above); then click the name of the link to jump to the page you want to visit.
  • If the tool requires another procedure, follow the directions in the red box for the tool you have chosen.

To visit any one of Electricka's major features using Electricka's Muse Index:

  • Step 1—Click the name Indexes And Tables Of Contents in the list of Electricka's navigation tools at the top of this page and jump to the red box marked Indexes And Tables Of Contents.
  • Step 2In the red box marked Indexes And Tables Of Contents, click the link Electricka Muse Index and jump to the page that contains the Electricka Muse Index.
  • Step 3—Each of the features named on the Electricka Muse Index page is one of Electricka's major features. Click the name of the feature you want to visit and jump to the feature you want to see.

Example 2:

To visit any one of Electricka's major features that is listed in Electricka's Table Of Contents (TOC):

  • Step 1—Click the name Indexes And Tables Of Contents in the list of Electricka's navigation tools at the top of this page and jump to the red box marked Indexes And Tables Of Contents.
  • Step 2In the red box marked Indexes And Tables Of Contents, click the link Table of Contents - Electricka and jump to the page that contains Electricka's TOC.
  • Step 3—Each of the features named on Electricka's TOC page is one of Electricka's major features. Click the name of the feature you want to visit and jump to the feature you want to see.
