more about holdings

The kinds of holdings cited in the Catalog go far beyond the scope of those in a real library. Many of them are not the kinds of items a real library would even handle. The one thing that all the Shelf's holdings have in common is that they are all of interest to Electricka's visitors. Here's a sampling:

  • Web sites or resources located at other web sites.
  • Databases.
  • Reference works such as dictionaries and encyclopedias, bibliographies, books, reports, readers guides, timelines, sound and video recordings, films, and other media.
  • Physical edifices and places such as libraries, museums, theaters, performance halls, institutions of higher learning, artist's estates, art schools, historical monuments, and famous buildings.
  • Organizations such as art movements, groups of allied artists, fan clubs, foundations, and art colonies.
  • Recent or historic activities and events such as important art shows, historic performances, periodic exhibits, celebrations, tournaments, awards, landmark occurrences, and festivals.
  • People such as artists, art personalities, publishers, and critics.
  • Resource Reviews.

Although Resource Reviews are listed among the holdings in the Catalog, they represent by far the smallest portion of the holdings stored on the Shelf.
